Time brings wisdom

– how AKI Family Resort PLOSE came to be

It was a fine spring day in 2007, when we fell in love with this slice of paradise beautifully set in the heart of South Tyrol. We were being offered the chance to purchase a plot of land gracefully resting on the slopes of Mt. Plose, with a sweeping view over the Isarco valley. The location was nothing short of a dream, one of those places that radiate a sense of peace and harmony while also offering plenty of options for active nature enjoyment.

When we secured the purchase, we were fully aware of the location’s high environmental value, and that any project would require a lengthy and demanding authorisation process. When that was finally completed, about ten years later, times had changed. At that point, we had to ponder what target group we should focus on, based on the location’s distinctive features, and how we could best honour the place by creating something unique. The idea was to seek inspiration by exploring the area. So, we donned our trekking boots and backpacks, and set off…

First, we kept to the areas closer to the site, walking across meadows and woodland, past traditional farms populated by friendly animals that interrupted their peaceful grazing to cast curious glances at us. Then, we took the Plose cable car, and as soon as we reached an altitude of 2,050 metres, a picture-perfect Alpine idyll revealed itself before our eyes. A wealth of scenic routes and easy trails complete with play stations offered itself from the mountain station, all commanding magnificent views of the Dolomites – a world of fun and variety for budding explorers!

We concluded that it would be an ideal destination for families with young children. Besides, Mt. Plose is a renowned family-friendly ski area, with generous opportunities for experiencing nature outside the pistes as well as plenty of alternatives. The nearby town of Bressanone, with its picturesque charm and rich historical heritage, is perfect for a jaunt with a more urban flavour.

It wasn’t long before we all agreed: “It’s going to be a family resort!” Its facilities and amenities would be geared towards children of all age groups, including babysitting as well as childminding and a well-rounded activity programme with adventures for the whole family.

Naturally, we opted for a sustainable approach to project design so as to preserve and protect the wonderful natural scenery. We resolved to create a unique retreat that, as part of the ADLER group, would combine contact with nature, relaxed luxury and wholesome lightness.

Our course was set, our vision clear. In the summer of 2023, we laid the first stone for AKI Family Resort PLOSE. It’s just a matter of a few months now until we can welcome you to a holiday experience tailored to every stage of your life.

Introducing AKI Family Resort PLOSE’s new logo

You guessed: it’s a FEATHER! For the AKI Family Resort PLOSE logo we wanted something original, with a high identity value and a clear link to nature. The feather references the eagle – our hotels’ totem animal as well as the mascot of our Kids’ club, to mention just one of the possible interpretations. In fact, we deliberately chose a pictogram that allows for multiple interpretative options. You may for example see…

A LEAF, expressing connection with nature

A NEST, symbolising care, nurture and a safe place for growth

A FOOTPRINT, representing the positive trace humans can leave on Earth and highlighting sustainability as one of our core principles.

ADLER brand visuals with recognition value, such as typeface, text alignment and the square shape are retained in this new logo, and the by ADLER addition further confirms AKI Family Resort PLOSE as an integral part of the ADLER hotel group.

WHERE IT SAYS AKI, IT MEANS 100% FAMILY. AT OUR FAMILY RESORT ON THE PLOSE, YOU CAN MARVEL AT NATURE, TASTE THE MOUNTAINS AND FEEL WHAT REAL RELAXATION MEANS.
