A Red Balloon and a World of Wonder

A journey is about to begin in the courtyard of Brixen’s Hofburg palace. All you need to bring is your curiosity. Through light and music, OOPS 2 tells a story for little explorers and grown-ups alike.

A red balloon has floated away. For Oops, there’s only one thing to do: find it. But follow a balloon and you never quite know where you’ll end up. Soon, the little creature’s search reaches far beyond the familiar walls of Brixen’s Hofburg palace – for one evening, at least.
From 26 November 2026 to 9 January 2027, its courtyard sets the scene for “OOPS 2 – A Light and Music Show for UNICEF”. Pull your hat down snugly, tuck your hands into your pockets and look up.

What’s behind the next window?
One moment, you’re standing in front of a historic façade. The next, Oops has led you into another world. Artworks come to life in a museum, Ancient Egypt appears before your eyes, and suddenly even the Earth is far below. That red balloon clearly has no intention of staying close to home.
Along the way, Oops meets Soliman the elephant and finds himself surrounded by the colours of India’s Holi festival. His search becomes a string of unexpected discoveries. What happens next? Where has the balloon gone this time? Questions that keep children looking up – and their parents just as keen to find out.
French visual artists Spectaculaires – Allumeurs d’Images make the Hofburg’s architecture part of the storytelling. Windows, arches and walls become shifting images, opening onto one new setting after another. Music by Giorgio Moroder accompanies the journey, giving each world its own sound.

Following a little hero, together
The adventure lasts around twenty minutes. It explores friendship and difference, the courage to keep going and the hope of finding something you’ve lost. Big ideas, carried by a little character whose curiosity always leads him onwards.
The show also reaches beyond the illuminated courtyard: part of the ticket proceeds supports UNICEF’s WASH programme in Zambia, helping improve access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene.
For families staying at AKI Family Resort Plose, OOPS 2 is a lovely reason to spend the evening in Brixen. First, a stroll through the old town; then a spot together in the courtyard, faces turned towards the light. And on the way back, perhaps a lively discussion about the best part: was it the museum, the prehistoric world or the journey into space?
